BIOGRAPHY

Adam P. (AP) Faust is a creative based in Atlanta. He holds a BFA from Guilford College, where his 2014 Sculpture Thesis featured found-object works inspired by explorations of dreams, memory, and the wooded landscapes of Durham and Greensboro, North Carolina.
After graduating, Faust embraced collage as his primary medium, delving into surrealist approaches to the subconscious through dreams, automatism, and the transformative possibilities of physical media.
Faust approaches collage as a contemporary echo of Surrealism’s pursuit of the subconscious.
Working with vintage advertisements, paper ephemera, found objects, and detritus, he constructs layered collages, hectic dreamscapes, and sculptural assemblages that embrace nostalgia, chance, humor, conflict, and transformation. He uses collage to physically and conceptually deconstruct and reimagine the narratives of life, labor, power, and masculinity as they are experienced today.
Currently, Faust serves as the Operations Director at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, where he curates exhibitions and programs in collaboration with Atlanta arts organizations, educators, and artists at all stages of their careers.
